Interconnecting West Africa

Enabling Networks, Content and Cloud

About WAF-IX

As the global economy becomes more integrated and dependent on digital technologies, efficient methods of connectivity are important to enable online activities such as e-commerce, internet banking, email and the general consumption of media content.

Content providers and networks are continuously seeking interconnection in multiple locations to deliver better service to consumers who continuously demand better access to content, gaming, cloud and mobility applications.

The West Africa Internet exchange (WAF-IX) provides the interconnection required to enable the digital ecosystem in West Africa by keeping traffic local and improving access to services and content

WAF-IX currently operates out of Lagos, Nigeria and is poised to expand to Ghana, Ivory Coast and Senegal. We are proudly supported by MDXi, Asteroid and MainOne.
